Science Is Right!

Sister Wade gave an amazing talk in church recently. It’s message is Grandparent Chronicles worthy!
She taught us that Science tells us that we need at least 4 Basics to survive.
1-Water
2- Air
3- Food
4- Light
She then went about showing us how the scriptures agree. 2Nephi 9:50- “Come, my brethren, everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters;...” To the woman at the well Jesus explained,( John 4:13-14) “ whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” In 1Ne 11:25- The fountain of living waters is a representation of the love of God. And D&C 63:23- “ But unto him that keepeth my commandments I will give the mysteries of my kingdom, and the same shall be in him a well of living water, springing up unto everlasting life.”
King Benjamin taught his people this important truth that even the Air we breath is a divine gift.(Mosiah 2:21) “ I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another, I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet would ye be unprofitable servants.”
As for Food, John taught us that Jesus is the bread of life. (John 6:35,47-48) “ And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall never hunger and he that believeth on me shall never thirst...Verily, verily I say unto you. He that believeth on me hath everlasting life, I am the bread of life,”
When Jesus appeared to the Nephites in (3 Nephi 11:11) He declared -“ Behold, I am the life and light of the world...” and In the Doctrine and Covenants (D&C 93:2) ...”I am the true light that lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” He told the Nephites (3Nephi 18:16) “Behold I am the Light; I have set an example for you.” Each of us came to earth having been given the Light of Christ. As we follow the example of the Savior and live as he lived and as he taught, that light will burn within us and will light the way for others.
Christ’s WATER, His gospel quenches permanently our basic needs. As the well of living water, the Savior’s water never runs dry. When we come to him with an empty cup He will fill It beyond our capacity to receive.
Christ’s AIR, His breath of life preserves us from day to day, refreshes us and vitalizes our existence. His Gospel is refreshing and only thru His Atonement can we be “restored to that God who gave them breath, which is the Holy One of Israel.”(2Ne 9:26)
When we feast on the FOOD Christ offers us we receive the Bread of Life. We Feast on His word and weekly partake of His flesh symbolically as we partake of the sacrament. He is the bread of life that enables us to live forever.
The LIGHT of Christ enlightens everyone born with a knowledge of right from wrong and points us to the right way. His life illuminates ours. “He lights the path and shows the way.”
“Jesus Christ is the light of the world because his example and his teachings illuminate the path we should walk to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven” (Dallin H Oaks “Light and Life of the World “ Oct 1987)
So in summary- Science says we need at least 4 Basics to survive.
1- Water
2- Air
3- Food
4- Light
We are thankful for Jesus Christ-
1- Our Living Water
2- Our (Air)Breath of Life
3- Our (Food) The Bread of Life
4- The Light of the World

Science was right, We need Jesus Christ to Live!
